This is another Rodney Smith inspired photograph. He made a photograph of a girl with an umbrella in Paris, under a canopy of Poplar Trees, by Notre Dame. Gardner Park, in Laurel MS, is one of our oldest and most iconic spaces. Gardiner Park was designed by the firm of Frederick Law Olmstead, the father of landscape architecture. It is the only park in Mississippi with that special distinction. However, Central Park in New York City and the gardens at Biltmore Estate were also designed by the firm.
